The huge continent full of such diverse people, ever growing and adapting to all of the change that is going on around it.
Three countries can be found in Eador; Rezia in the Northwest, Thranebet in the Northeast, and Abreryn in the South. Rezia is rules by a large royal family and a council under it, despite only has a singular town due to many of their people choosing to live outside of it. That town, named Ignatown, is located right on the ocean near the island that holds the country's currently dormant volcano, though the molten scared land around makes it clear it hasn't always been that way. Outside of the scared land, their territory is mostly made of dryer savannah lands with more traditional plains towards the center of their land. Most of Rezia have higher temperatures, with their dryer lands typically staying above 70 degrees Fahrenheit and with limited rain, it fades to a more comfortable average of around 60 degrees with occasional storms in its lower half. Thranebetet is led by a council, and is fairly evenly divided between its two towns of Lion's Roar and Stormwatch. Its lands are very similar in features and weather patterns to its bordering country of Rezia, though temperatures at its lowest border tends to be a bit more chilly. Abreryn is run by two tyrannical brothers, each in which directly rule one of the country's two towns, Gurvash and Drokul. A jagged and chilly mountain range marks most of its northern border, while most of the rest of its lands are field like, growing more hilly towards its left side. The average temperatures for the country typically range between 35 to 55 degrees Fahrenheit, with it not being that uncommon for snow in the lowest points of their land and in the mountains, with most rain that happens being a light drizzle.
Rezia is the oldest of the three kingdoms, having been established ~254 years ago by those who were refugees from the quakes and the volcano eruption. The ruling family grew in power and has maintained stability through diplomacy and trade alliances.Thranebet and Abreryn were previously one country, Linjeprakt, though upon it collapsing 178 years ago, they formed their own kingdoms. Thranebet was the first to properly be established, though their election process for its rulers only began midway through its life roughly 98 years ago after an attempt of a royal family fell apart and nearly destroyed the kingdom. Abreryn is the newest of the kingdoms, despite having unofficially existed the longest, though never having the chance to become its own country, it only officially separated from Thranebet 171 years ago after the collapse of Linjeprakt, though it left some hostility between its people and those of the other kingdoms. They’ve learned to rely greatly on the mountains separating themselves and Thranebet as defenses and to keep the peace, given that was the kingdom that put up the most fight to keep them as one. For a period of thirty years after Abreryn was being established, there was a great war across the continent, before finally it settled into an unsteady treaty between them, though that treaty was strengthened when a drought washed over a part of the continent, killing many of the crops in Rezia and Thranebet.
Eador is easily the largest populated country with an approximate area of 1400 square miles and a population of roughly 95,000, though it is widely believed that this number is inaccurate due to constantly taking in refugees who have lost their homes from the earthquakes. Of that population, most of it could likely be found within Abreryn, especially the number of people in the countries that are staying in towns; however, Thranebet wouldn't have too much less, though they have a much higher population that stays outside of their towns. While their numbers have become much more diverse in the recent years thanks to incoming refugees, the races that are native to this continent include the following: Fire Genasi, Human, Tiefling, Minotaur, Dragonborn, Leonin, Orc, Half-Orc, Goliath, Bugbear, Goblin, and Hobgoblin. Although there has been a growing number of multi-race relationships, due to them rarely being able to have children, it has begun to become increasingly more popular to find a more compatable race to assist with producing one. With so many coming to Eador out of need, the most worshiped domain is easily Peace, with Light being a close second, many of the people also hoping that they will have the opportunity for new grand lives after everything.
Rezia is ruled by a ruling family that has an appointed council that does most of the ‘ground work’. It is a mixed race royal family and council, though the ‘offspring’ are often only related to one parent due to failure to produce children, with proper understanding with the other partner. It is due to this that there are a large number of children.
Hierarchy
Queen Monolith and Prince Consort Kuldrick
Queen Monolith, known to be rather peaceful and level tempered despite her more assertive parentage, bringing forth changes even from a young age to make positive changes in the kingdom even before she took her current position, raising her approval and keeping it high. There aren't many strong opinions on the prince consort as he seems to prefer doing things in the background, but he has remained a loyal husband for the many years that he's been married to the queen.
First Born Princess Vimmeal, Second Born Prin Alabaster, Third Born Princess Travertine, Fourth and Fifth Born Twin Princes Calce and Klixar, Sixth Born Prince Iamir
With so many children in the royal family, thoughts and opinions on them are heavily varying. Vimmeal is unusually close with the common person, carrying a certain... spark with them, but few think that she'd be a good ruler with her current personality. Alabaster takes their position very seriously, seeming to hold the importance of the kingdom over anything else, though some worry that they may be too ambitious. Travertine, despite being the third born, is believed to act the most mature of the siblings and has never done much to bring any negative attention to herself, many rejoicing when she settled down and had children. The twins Calce and Klixar have similar yet differing personalities, Calice choosing to be more scholarly while Klixar prefers to be on the more story writing side of things. Few people openly dislike Iamir, though most internally do, feeling like when his existence surfaced it brought unneeded tensions in their king and queen's relationship.
The Council
Council Member (Head of Resources) Gurai
Council Member (Head of Legal) Mormo
Council Member (Head of Military) Anthracite
Council Member (Head of Information) Uovami
Council Member (Head of Magic) Foix
Gurai is well liked enough, albeit known to be overly self confident in himself and how much others will like him, but his work is good enough to earn the approval of most. Thoughts on Mormo varies, with some holding suspicion with her open disliking of many parts of the law, while others praise her feeling for the need of change. None would doubt Anthracite's position on the council, given her showing of her physical capabilities and her skilled in war tactics she is, with few being able to work greater than her. Controversies was brought forth at Uovami being chosen to be on the council, with many still in old mindsets that minotaurs aren't the brightest, but he has since done much to prove them wrong. Foix is the council member that few had surprise about being offered the position, despite her growing up in another continent, with her having done plenty to earn the people's trust and show her skills.
Rezia has a variety of supplies that are gathered and crafted with from multiple places throughout their regions, leading to a great amount of agriculture, mining, and artistically skilled people. Their main exports are things that can be found on the volcanic island in the mine that has been created in the base of the volcano, such as precious metals and gemstones, including but not limited to gold, copper, agates, rubies, and even occasional findings of adamant and mithral ore. Thanks to the resources gathered, as well as the often rather resourceful people around, artisans are common around, with their most common crafts being things like carvings, mostly from stone, gems, or bones, and weavings, usually from the more stringy grass in the savannas. Despite the forest on their land, they rely mostly on import for lumber as well as things such as fruits and spices. There are a couple of seasons in which is the best economically beneficial for their people, that being during the dryer seasons thanks to less threats of rains causing issues with the mines, and the colder seasons when trade is most prominent. While it is well known that the royal family is rather wealthy from their taxes and profits from trade, despite the fact that it isn't unoften to see people in town struggling to make a living, it is rarely held against them due to them being so hands on with helping the people when asked.
Ignatown
A semi-magma destroyed town, the structures rely a lot on non-wood materials, given the possibility of another eruption is a non-zero and want to reduce the damage to their homes as much as possible in the instance that it does happen. The people that choose to call this town their home despite such a possibility tend to be a bit more stubborn in their ways, as well as ones that have grown reliant on the resources of the environment, expecially ones who use materials from the volcano or collected from the local wildlife. There's a good few merchants that go out of their way to make a stop in this town, both for such materials and for the people within it.
Easthallow (Second Largest, Destroyed in 199)
This city was on the coasts of the town and was heavily focused on agriculture and animal husbandry, being known for the breeding and ownership of many unusual animals, though it is said that many of the animals that had been bred in the time escaped when it was destroyed. Many of their people were considered to be closer with nature or the gods than the average person, which is likely what led to the pilgrimages to it after its destruction.
Brimshold (Settlement Destroyed 230 AP)
This settlement was at the base of the volcano and was known for its vibrant community of artisans, their people thriving off the trade of its volcanic clay and gemstones. Although the original buildings and structures were destroyed, and a great amount of their original inhabitants were killed, there is still a good amount of people that choose to live among the area where this town once stood, often being the ones that gather the resources that Ignatown relies on so greatly.
Thranebet is ruled by an elected head which also has a small council that is voted on by the people. It runs in terms of one year, the candidate must have been a resident of the country for at least four years. must be past their age of adulthood, with a max of twelve terms per person.
Elected Head Grios
Council Member of Protections Dokk
Council Member of Advancement Vaathi
Council Member of Management Byevol
Grios running for a position on the council pleasantly surprised most, with most people seeing him as a person who would rather stay in the background helping where he was, but since he has taken to wearing a mask during council work, he has proven that his position was certainly well fit for him. Dokk has been on the council for the longest and for a good reason, he is great at what he does and has earned the full trust of the people, supported even more so by his years as a guard before becoming a council member. Some feel like Vaathi's attention is too split between her work and council work, but there haven't been enough issues from her being distracted for people to feel like she needs to be removed from the position, but it's well known she likely won't be elected again. Byevol's election to the council brought a bit of an uproar due to a bit of an infamous background, but despite him seeming out of place at first, he settled well into the job, proving any doubters wrong.
Thranebet is heavily influenced by trade, due to having fewer resource gathering locations compared to the other kingdoms, heavily reliant on other places to supply almost everything to them apart from food. One of the biggest thing that they focus on their imports tends to be metals and other raw materials, as many of them create new tools and weapons with the supplies that are brought in through trade. They are also fairly reliant on trade for things like 'luxury' things, with few finding success in creating most form of artistic creations with the supplies that were found locally around, and those who could afford to purchase from elsewhere tending to focus on more practical use. Apart from the ones who work with metal and inventions, the majority of their people focus on farming, allowing simpler crops and agricultural production to be the main export of the kingdom, with a major focus on root vegetables, leafy greens, beans, and squashes. Despite the council members and a few more affluential figures living more stable lives, there aren't many people who are more or less wealthy than the average person, as even those who create rather successful inventions end up having to pay for it with the cost of the materials they make to create.
Lion’s Roar
A simple savanna town that has an unusual amount of technological advancement due to a handful of artificers claiming the town as home, causing it to have some steam-punk elements such as a working clock tower and enhanced windmills. The Elected Head himself has a home in the town, as do many well-practiced blacksmiths and engineers, allowing for the guard force that the town has to have weapons well suited for their needs. Despite that, there are also quite a few elements of the town that rely on nature as well, many buildings opting to have an indoor or rooftop guarden, a variety of crop fields around, and a few people in town who act as alchemists.
Stormwatch
A town that takes advantage of its access of rare metals in the mountains, strengthening many elements of its structures and crafts with metals. The town includes structures such as multiple windmils, an observatory, and a clocktower with a bit more of a more stable design than the one in the other town. The people here tend to lean more into general metalworking rather can crafting weapons and armors specificially, many testing the boundaries of how far they can push their technological advancements. While not as major as other places, there are a few farms as well, and some people are particularly religious.
Durath’s Hallow (Destroyed in 230 AP)
A small town that was found in the lands where the mountain meets the forest, where most of their structures were built into the mountain itself. They were rumored to harbor smugglers, but assisted with keeping the economy from collapsing during times of struggle. When the earthquakes brought it down, it caused many of their cave houses to collapse or be blocked off by landslides.
Abreryn is ran by a family of hoblins who refuse to call themselves a royal family, nor does it focus on a singular member of the family at a time for rulership.
The current rulers are composed of a pair of siblings who each lead the one of the towns, though their rules vary heavily.
The older brother, Olvur
The younger brother, Zundug
Olvur is well known for being firm in his rulings as well as rather resourceful in figuring out solutions to any issues that his people may face, though often in a more brutal mannerism than needed. Zundung, on the other hand, is infamously rather sly and will take any chance that he can get to make himself some extra coin or luxuries, even if it's at the cost of his people.
Abreryn has an economy that is a mix of trade and agriculture and craftsmanship, though in more recent years with surges of people immigrating to their country there has been a wide range of specialties and focuses that have begun to tweak what people choose to do for a living. They have found success in growing a variety of crops and herbs, especially ones that offer healing abilities and a main focus on their crops being leafy greens and peppers. The people have also managed to find means to profit with natural resources on their lands such as the patches of rich clay in the hills near Gurvash, helping for a variety of things with both artistic and practical uses. Many people have leaned greatly into the artisan and artistic elements of what their land can provide them with, with many choosing to learn how to craft pottery and textiles. Despite having mines on their lands, they are limited to finding mostly raw metals in them, relying on imports for getting things like gems, as well as getting more vitamin rich crops and foods from other countries. Aside from the leading family and a select few people who they deem worth it to live a life of luxury, many people live fair lives, if not a bit better than other places, though behind the scenes there are people who do end up suffering economically and perhaps even in other ways.
Drokul
This city behaves more like a war camp than a normal city, with there being very few permanent buildings and most people living in tents and other easily rebuildable structures. Most of the buildings are simply propped up or wooden shacks, which brings up the unfortunate problem that many have to be rebuilt after any issues with earthquakes and other major disturbances around. Most of their people are trained in some sort of combat, even if they may never willingly go into any sort of combat, though there is also a fair share of those who focus on healing abilities and gathering any resources that they need through trade.
Gurvash
A city that looks more like a bunch of buildings just thrown together for people to live in due to its people suffering the most losses of homes from earthquakes. They have a wide variety of housing types there, some even living in the hills around their town neat the small mining areas that they have made. Likely due to the clash of cultures, many of the careers that people in this town lean towards more artistic careers such as pottery and cooking, though a few fall into traditional careers that deal with metalworking and physical labor, though there's also said to be some less savory work being done around town.
Dransek (Fallen City Destroyed in 172)
A city that acted as a fortified trading post in the central mountain area that was destroyed in the war following Abreryn declaring official independence. Its structures were simple and well worn, but have been mostly lost to time after its destruction.
Uluthor (Fallen City Destroyed in 225)
A city that was once considered to be one of the most grand cities in the continent with advanced architectural features for it’s time. It was almost completely flattened after an unexplained incident, though none of the survivors were able to give a proper explanation there have been talk about it being the result of magic gone wrong.
